Rael is an ISA Certified Arborist providing expert tree, shrub, and lawn care in the Metro Detroit area. He holds a degree in Environmental Science from Oakland University and specializes in sustainability and resource management. Rael partners with clients to develop actionable landscape plans and actively supports local environmental initiatives.

Qualifications:

Rael has been engaged in tree, shrub, and lawn care since 2017 with Mike's Tree Surgeons. Since earning his ISA Certified Arborist credential through SavATree in 2019, he continues to demonstrate his expertise in the Metro Detroit area.

Education:

Rael earned his degree in Environmental Science with a specialization in environmental sustainability and resource management from Oakland University in Michigan.

Personal:

Rael is the proud father of three boys and he’s from Forster New South Wales, Australia.

Community Involvement:

Rael is a volunteer at the Clinton River Watershed Council. He also does talks at local community clubs such as Rochester Garden Club and Hills of Rochester Garden Club.

Rael also volunteers annually to plant trees at Meadowbrook Hall for Earth Day.

Why Did you Become an Arborist?

“I wanted to become the “Steve Irwin of trees”.

This crew was by far the best crew I’ve had to come to my house. I have several acres of trees, and I’m constantly having work done. After the storm that we had this winter, my 90 yr old magnolia tree was severely injured. They came out, diagnosed, and ran through everything they were going to do to save this tree. The team today did a fabulous job climbing nearly 100 feet with only ropes to help repair a branch that fell during one of our storms. They did fabulous work as did the arborist who came out to help me!! I am trying to save my trees and these guys get it. Thanks so much!!!

I had a mountain ash tree removed from my backyard. The crew was timely and got the work done quickly. It had rained the day before, so they carried out the tree limbs by hand instead of driving equipment across the soft ground. Cleanup was thorough, leaving the yard in better shape than when they arrived.

They did an awesome job from start to finish. Rael came out and diagnosed what was hurting our trees and came up with a plan. The guys came out and pruned each tree from top to bottom. It was a wet day in December and they kept the yard clean and looking like they were never there.

The service is fantastic. They've managed to really straighten out my trees and bushes, everything looks more lush , green, and healthy.
