Arborist

Jason is an experienced arborist with a degree in Forest Technology from ABAC. He began his career as a plant health care specialist before moving into consulting and sales roles. Jason provides expert service with a focus on educating clients about tree care and providing tailored solutions to meet their needs and budget.

Education:

Jason graduated from ABAC in 1996 with an Associate Degree in Forest Technology.

Qualifications:

Jason worked with Arborguard Tree Specialists where he learned from the ground up as a Plant Health Care Specialist for two years before becoming a consulting and sales arborist. In 2002, he joined Downey Trees as an arborist, and helped them expand to operating in Destin, Florida.

Why did you become an arborist?

“I have always enjoyed being outside.”

Personal:

Jason was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia before moving to Panama City Beach with his wife and two children to open the Downey Tree branch in that area. The whole family enjoys fishing, baseball, and being outdoors!

Chevelle helped us with our oak trees and a large crepe myrtle that needed trimming. He provided advice and explained exactly what they would do with the trees and why and provided reasonable price for the work. Will definitely use this SavATree again.

Had a great experience with Matt’s crew. They trimmed about 20 trees on my property and cut down 3. Very quickly and cleaned up after themselves. Left no trace. Just clean trees! Highly recommend them!

I had roots coming up out of the ground on a water oak tree . I wanted to make sure I had explored all options before I had it cut down. Jason came out and looked at the tree and gave me his professional assessment. He was timely and professional. Instead of just telling me it had to be cut down he explained all the reasons why. I truly felt he cared about what he was doing.

I cannot recommend Sav-a-Tree enough. They did an outstanding job pruning our Live Oaks and Magnolia trees. The trees look so much better all cleaned up.
